The Estonia U-space Sandbox is a collaborative initiative led by ANRA Technologies, with the primary objective of establishing a testing facility for the comprehensive integration and deployment of unmanned aviation technologies, specifically for U-space applications. This innovative sandbox serves as a testing ground for the validation and advancement of cutting-edge technologies in the field of unmanned aviation. Furthermore, it aligns seamlessly with the European Commission’s efforts to implement regulations and standards governing unmanned aviation. Key stakeholders in this project include:
The Estonia U-space Sandbox project is designed to establish the bedrock for credible U-space operations, thereby paving the way for the provision of commercial U-space services. Oversight and operation of the test facility are entrusted to the Estonian Aviation Academy. The overarching aim of this endeavour is to provide unmanned air traffic services that span across Europe. The test facility is conceived to furnish digital services to drone operators who plan to navigate the future U-space environment.
The collaborative efforts of diverse service providers and the coordinated development activities will delineate the project’s future trajectory and the degree of advancement of the test facility.
