Overview

ANRA Technologies is proud to have been a key contributor to the AMU-LED project, an ambitious Horizon 2020 initiative funded by the European Union and framed within the SESAR Joint Undertaking. The project’s primary objective was to demonstrate the safe and effective integration of various types of drone operations, including cargo and passenger transport, within urban airspace across Europe. The AMU-LED project represents one of the most significant undertakings in the field of Urban Air Mobility (UAM), involving a consortium of seventeen leading companies, organizations, and municipalities from the United States and Europe.

Project Highlights

Throughout the project, ANRA Technologies provided its advanced airspace management solutions, leveraging its ANRATM family of software platforms to support both simulated and live eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) operations. These operations were executed across diverse scenarios, use cases, and applications, including cargo and passenger transport, delivery of goods and medical equipment, infrastructure inspection, law enforcement, and emergency services. The culmination of these efforts was the successful execution of over 100 hours of air vehicle flight tests in urban environments across Spain, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.

Key Contributions

ANRA Technologies’ platforms played a critical role in enabling the project to achieve its goals. By providing a robust framework for airspace management and mission execution, ANRA ensured that all drone operations within the project were conducted safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory standards. The data collected from these operations will be instrumental in informing future regulations and standards for UAM, helping to shape the future of air traffic management in Europe.

Conclusion

The AMU-LED project stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of industry leaders in advancing the future of urban air mobility. ANRA Technologies’ involvement in this project underscores its commitment to pioneering innovative solutions in airspace management, contributing to the evolution of UAM, and supporting the realization of sustainable, smart cities. As the project concludes, the insights gained and the technologies developed will continue to influence the trajectory of urban air mobility in Europe and beyond.
