ANRA Welcomes Tony Merrigan as EU Strategy Lead

As we continue to grow our presence and impact across the European aviation ecosystem, I’m thrilled to welcome Tony Merrigan to the ANRA family. Tony brings unmatched experience in air traffic management, aviation policy, and business development from his time with the Irish Aviation Authority and across numerous landmark European projects. His insight and network will be invaluable as we expand our U-space and digital airspace initiatives. We look forward to working together to accelerate the next era of aviation.
About Tony Merrigan
Tony Merrigan has over 40 years of experience in aviation, beginning his career as an air traffic controller. For two decades, he led international business development, customer support, and marketing at the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), where he managed global projects with a focus on Europe. His portfolio includes technology implementation, training, and strategic consulting across the aviation spectrum.
Tony was deputy project manager for the airline support effort during the part-privatization of UK NATS and played a foundational role in initiatives like COOPANS and Entry Point North. He has worked closely with organizations like EUROCONTROL and CANSO and provided strategic advisory services to the European Commission on aviation and security matters. Most recently, he has supported aviation technology companies including Aireon, FlightAware, and Collins Aerospace in European marketing and outreach roles.
Tony’s deep-rooted relationships with airlines, ANSPs, and institutions across the continent, combined with his passion for aviation (and rugby!), make him an ideal leader to steer ANRA’s strategy in Europe.
