ANRA Scores Two UK Future of Flight Contracts
ANRA Technologies was awarded two United Kingdom Research and Innovation contracts for Future of Flight Challenge Phase 3. This effort will transform how the UK connects people, delivers goods and provides services by accelerating the acceptance of these vehicles into service by encouraging businesses to share knowledge and resources. ANRA, along with consortium partners, will support projects CALEUS and BLUEPRINT over the next two years.
Project CALEUS (Care and equity logistics UAS Scotland) will develop and trial what will be the UK’s first national distribution network to use drones to transport essential medicines, blood, organs and other medical supplies throughout Scotland. This is the second successful round for ANRA and the CAELUS consortium, which National Health System Scotland has said it will bring its “Once for Scotland” approach to the project for live flight trials and removing remaining barriers to safely using drones at scale within Scotland’s airspace.
Project BLUEPRINT builds on recent work by the UK regulator who published a report earlier this year that recommended the use of transponder mandatory zones (TMZs) to enable BVLOS drone operations. This project aims to help regulators, technology providers and operators come to a consensus on the blueprint for a UK wide rollout of Beyond Visual Line of Sight drone operations.
