ANRA Caught on Tape at Drone Enable
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Third DRONE ENABLE Symposium was held 12-14 November 2019 in Montréal, Canada. The theme was “DRONE ENABLE/3 – Facilitating Future Innovation”.
ANRA sent a delegation and staffed a booth to discuss their UTM platform called DroneUSSTM, and their workflow orchestration platform called DroneOSSTM.
The symposium brought together key stakeholders from government, industry, academia, and international organizations active in the unmanned aviation sector to exchange research, best practices, lessons learned and respective challenges. Attention was given to complex issues related to the introduction of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and UAS traffic management (UTM). Best practices were discussed to address cyber issues, information management, uncertificated unmanned aircraft (UA) operations in high seas airspace, operations above FL600, and rules of the air.
The symposium described commercial and non-commercial activities in this rapidly evolving sector of the aviation industry. It showcased the breadth of existing technologies, and ongoing research and development.
During the conference, the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) which is responsible for aviation development and the supervision of civil aviation activities in Switzerland showed a video about a remote ID demo conducted in Bern, Switzerland. ANRA is pleased to have contributed the video and more importantly, to help advance the technologies necessary for more complex and safe operations.
